On the heels of their highly successful tour in support of their 2017 release, Wonderful Wonderful, The Killers are appearing at the iHeartRadio ALTer Ego festival.
The Killers are a rock band from Las Vegas. They formed in the early '00s, and the band includes four current members. They are one of the most successful bands from Nevada, and they got their name from a bass drum logo of a fake band in the New Order "Crystal" music video. The smash hit "Mr. Brightside" was actually the first song that Brandon Flowers (lead vocals, various instruments) and Dave Keuning (guitar, backing vocals) wrote together. They added Matt Norcross (drummer) to the band while recording a demo. However, Norcross was eventually fired. Ronnie Vannucci Jr. became the drummer in 2002. Mark Stoermer would finish out the band's sound as he decided to step in as bassist after convincing. He was already bassist in another band and hesitated leaving. He finally decided to join, and after signing with a British label, "Somebody Told Me" gained enough attention to gain interest from U.S. labels. They signed to Island Def Jam.
They released their debut album Hot Fuss in 2004 including "Somebody Told Me" and "Mr. Brightside." It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the Grammys in addition to two other Grammy nominations. Their sophomore album Sam's Town received mixed reviews. Day & Age was their third studio album led by the single "Human." Their fourth album was named after the flag of Nevada and called Battle Born. The Killers' fifth album Wonderful Wonderful dropped in September 2017.
